A modern Edwardian man looks to today (for yesterday) , on how to live, love, dress, exercise (ugh!), eat and drink like an Edwardian man of means.
This blog is devoted to that never unending quest for the best in life! On Your Own Terms!
"Now Give Three Cheers and One Cheer More" As G & S Once Wrote..Hurrah For the True British Soul...
Today a modest band of immaculately dressed chaps and chapettes descended upon Savile Row ( London's key street synonymous with good taste, sharp cutting and bespoke tailoring for more than two centuries ) to protest against the opening of a children's store by Abercrombie and Kent. "We felt ( and I totally agree) "rather strongly that Savile Row is not the right sort of street for the sale of T-Shirts, cargo pants and thongs with suggestive slogans on them" If WS Churchill was still alive, he'd have something to see about it! By god!
Although it is 2019, I was certainly born in the wrong century, and as much, I preferred to have been alive in the 1900's in England and France and thus all my life I have tried to devote myself to living, dressing, eating, reading, enjoying life as a man of means would have ,during the Edwardian Era.
So, to those who will read this blog, I can only say that if you do not appreciate a good cigar, a well tailored shirt, a glass of Port with chesse or a glass of Maderia with cold roast chicken at bedtime, a good 9 hours of sleep - or if for breakfast, you don't approve of porridge, curried eggs, grilled cutlets, Kedregree, kippers, deviled kidneys, bacon, toast, butter and honey then I say to you, please read no further and please exit this site, but on the other hand if you appreciate the above and more, then please enjoy what shall follow.
